"I fell in love with Addison County in 2006 when I came here for college. My partner and I moved to Vergennes in 2017, and I joined the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Vergennes.

I have served on the City Council with the 3 current members during a time when votes were unanimous and working together was the norm.

We worked together to move forward the Vergennes Economic Corridor, to increase investment in our aging sewer and wastewater treatment plant, and to hire our wonderful recreation director. I believe that my past work with the current councilors, as well as my ability to organize with Ian, Jill and Dickie speak to my dedication, my collaboration, and my ability to look to the future while honoring the past."

David Small is a collaborative, kind, and honest leader

David Small believes in

  • Responsible and transparent governance.

  • Making Vergennes welcoming to young people, families, and a more diverse population. We want people of all backgrounds to grow roots here.

  • Increased housing opportunities for an expanding tax base and a range of rentals for a diverse, inclusive community for Vergennes residents at every stage of life.

  • Community involved policing.

  • Moving forward with Vergennes Economic Corridor.

  • Municipal partnerships with surrounding towns (including finalizing the border disputes).

  • Continuing to enhance antiquated storm water/sewer system.
